Third Schoolday

          The two oblong blocks at the bottom of the
Torah of the alphabet have a second meaning. The
lower   block   also   means   male (’Alef) and female
(Bet)   making   love   (Kaf, Lamed) as demonstrated
by the frontmost letters on the sphinx (p. 39), and
by    the    hieroglyphic    derivation    of    the    letters
"K    �    L"    (p.    108).   As   sexual   intercourse   is
followed   by   pregnancy   the next block on top of
the   foundation-stone   reads   creation   or   formation
(Yetzirah)   of   the   body   symbolized   by the hand
(Yod) of the potter (Yotzer) creating his works out
of   TIT,   hence Tet "clay" (Yesha‘yahu 41, 25) in
the   female (Shadayim, Tau). Next after pregnancy
is birth symbolized by the lower left square block.
The    letter    Kof    "monkey"    is    also   called   Kuf
"narrow   opening of a needle", which is below the
letter   Tzadi "lateral" consisting of breasts and one
side   of   the   body,   turning   the monkey's tail into
an   umbilical   cord.   The   symbolism   is   completed
by    the    head   (Resh)   of   a   crying   baby   (Peh).

Over to
