Fourth Schoolday

          The lower right square block of the Torah of
the   alphabet   deals   with   the   circumcision   of the
foreskin, which according to the law of the Torah
has   to   be   performed on the eighth day after the
birth of a son (Genesis 17, 12). The letters of the
upper   line   of   this block, He’ "person" with Wau
"hook", stand for a male person being circumcised
at the topmost tip of his erect sexual organ (Zayin)
with    a   circumcision   knife   (Chet).   The   chrono-
logical sequence of the lower four blocks beginning
with   sexual   intercourse, and continuing with preg-
nancy,   birth,   and   circumcision   proves   that   their
pictographic   symbolism   is   inherent in the original
Torah of the ’Alef-Bet, and not merely an imagina-
tive    inference   of   today.   Repeating   the   alphabet
we    now   take   the   oportunity   to   note   that   the
four   letters   containing   a   quarter   circle,   open at
the   upper   right,   or   a   corresponding   right   angle
(Wau,    Zayin,    Yod,    Lamed)    are   systematically
placed in a column standing on top of each other.
